Fellowship

"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved." Acts 2:42-47 New International Version

Fellowship is more than just meeting people and socializing. The idea of Christian fellowship comes from the greek word Koininia which involves join partnership and relationships building. This is an important aspect of Community Alliance Church. Our vision statement contains the sentence: "We will be a community of Great Commission Christians, known by our love for God, love for one another, and our love for the lost.".

Fellowship Dinners, the second  Sunday of every month

Immediately following the service on the second Sunday of each month, the Community Alliance family gathers around the table for an old-fashioned, covered dish, fellowship meal. Everyone is encouraged to bring their favorite main dish or side dish. The church provides dessert and beverages. Guests are invited to join in the fellowship as there is always more than enough food to go around.

This gives us opportunities to meet and get to know those we don't normally get a chance to meet with the during the week.  The whole church family participates.  Everyone attending church is welcome to enjoy the meal with us.

     Other Opportunties which Encourage Fellowship

The Alliance Men, Alliance Women Ministries, Hispanic Ministries, and 412 (Youth) also have other opportunities to fellowship in conjunction with their other activities.

Small groups meet once weekly or bi-weekly in various locations around the Athens area for Bible Study, Fellowship and Prayer. These are just some activities that encourage the development of true Christian Fellowship among the church family at Community Alliance Church.
